What does VPI mean?

Virtual Path Identifier (VPI) refers to an 8-bit (user-to-network cells) or 12-bit (network-network cells) field within the header of an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) cell. The VPI, together with the Virtual Channel Identifier (VCI) is used to identify the next destination of a cell as iteries of ATM switches on its way to its destination.

ATM cells generally pass through ATM switches. VPI tells the switches about the route of cell as the cell travels through the ATM network. Generally, the VPI is used with VCI to identify the route or destination of the cell. The function of VPI is similar to the function of DLCI in Frame Relay.

Volte: Voice over Long Term Evolution

Full Form of Volte or Volte stands for Voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE). It is a standards-based technology that is developed to support voice calls over an LTE network. It delivers high-quality voice communication, video calls, messaging services, and data over 4G wireless network or 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks for mobile and portable devices.

Full Form of Volte
Full Form of Volte

It defines the standards and procedures for delivering voice communication and data over 4G LTE networks. When you make a call using VoLTE supported phone, the voice goes over the carrier’s high-speed data network instead of its voice network. Thus, it offers superior call quality, faster call connectivity, and ability to use voice and high-speed data at the same time. However, you need to use a phone that supports VolTE, in an area with 4G LTE service, and the person on the other end must also have the same facilities.

Full Form of Volte & How VoLTE Works?

In VoLTE the call is carried over the IP network provided by the 4G network. It uses your 4G data connectivity to send data packets for voice calls, e.g., when you make calls using the internet like whatsup call, skype call, etc.

VoLTE allows carrying voice traffic using IP packets over the IP network (IP to IP based network). It carries your call as a stream of IP packets over data connections. So, it primarily works on IP-based networks and only supports packet switching.

What does VoLTE mean?

Voice over LTE (VoLTE) or Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE), is a technology based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) for delivering high-quality voice communication and data over 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. When a user makes a call from VoLTE supported phone the voice goes over the carrier’s high-speed data network instead of its voice network. The benefits of VoLTE are superior call quality, faster call connectivity and the ability to use voice and high-speed data at the same time”.

Benefits of VoLTE:

  • It enables you to use voice and data at the same time.
  • It enables high definition (HD) voice calling, a significant improvement over traditional calls made via cellular networks.
  • It connects calls easily and much faster than traditional GSM or CDMA.
  • It offers more efficient use of spectrum than the traditional 2G or 3G technology.
  • It increases battery life as it uses shorter discontinuous reception (DRx) which improves device power efficiency.

Technical Specifications

The original VGA has the following specification:

  • 256 kB Video RAM
  • 16-color and 256-color paletted display modes.
  • 262,144-color global palette (6 bits, and therefore 64 possible levels, for each of the red, green, and blue channels via the RAMDAC)
  • Selectable 25.175 MHz or 28.322 MHz master pixel clock
  • Usual line rate fixed at 31.469 kHz
  • Maximum of 800 horizontal pixels
  • Maximum of 600 lines
  • Refresh rates at up to 70 Hz
  • Vertical blank interrupt
  • Planar mode: up to 16 colors (4-bit planes)
  • Packed-pixel mode: 256 colors (Mode 13h)
  • Hardware smooth scrolling support
  • No hardware sprites,
  • No Blitter, but supports very fast data transfers via “VGA latch” registers.
  • Barrel shifter
  • Split screen support
  • 0.7 V peak-to-peak
  • 75 ohm double-terminated impedance (18.7 mA, 13 mW)

Shape and Size

A VGA connector is shaped like a trapezoid and it has 15 pins. If you have a old monitor designed for the older standards may not be able to work with Video Graphics Array standards.

The older VGAs provide a resolution of 640×480 pixels. After that version, many revisions have been introduced. The most common version of VGA is Super VGA (SVGA). It allows for resolutions greater than 640×480, such as 800×600 or 1024×768.

What is the full form of VFX

Full Form of VFX or VFX stands for Visual Effects. It a technology that is used to create videos out of a combination of live actions shots and digital images. In actions movies, you would have seen the hero jumping from the helicopter or fighting with giant monsters, all these scenes are created using VFX.

Full Form of VFX
Full Form of VFX

It deals with the consolidation of real-life footage and computer-generated imagery (CGI) to make situations, which looks real and sensible and otherwise would be costly, risky, and impractical to shoot on film. In short, in VFX you manipulate CGI and combine it into live actions captured with film making.

VFX is flexible as it can be used to create a wide range of video creation from live footage visuals, altered videos, and computer-generated imageries. In VFX, the most commonly used tool is a green screen, which is a background that can be easily removed from behind the actor after creating the required images on the background. This visual effects cannot be created on a film physically, so they are created virtually through computer graphics.

What is the full form of VFX?

Furthermore, timing is an important factor in VFX, e.g., when and how an effect is created plays an important part in creating a video. It is generally done during the post-production process but planned during the building or initial phase of the process. Such as changing the simple background into the ocean, forest, stadium, etc., after shooting the scene with a simple green background.

VFX is different from CGI (computer-generated imagery) which is an application of computer graphics (imaging software) which allows you create images, characters, and video games that look real and which may not be possible to create using other methods.

Types of VFX:

The VFX can be categorized into five different categories:

  • Simulation FX
  • Animation
  • Modelling
  • Compositing
  • Matte painting

Job Titles for a VFX artist:

  • Concept artist
  • Digital Paint Artist
  • Compositor
  • Layout Artist
  • Match Move artist
  • Matte Painter
  • Roto Artist
  • Technical Director
  • VFX supervisor

What does VFX mean?

“Visual Effects (VFX) are the various processes by which imagery is manipulated and/or completely created to enhance the imagery generated from a live action shoot. The main objective of VFX is to create a very realistic scene or environment on screen which in reality might be very costly to build, impossible to capture or unreal.”
